The Big Sandy Fire Department proudly protects over 1800 people living in an area of 40 square miles. Our department is a public department

whose members are on a voluneer status. Big Sandy Fire Department was established in 1981 to cover, mostly, a rural area. The department now covers a wide variety of arears including five industrial complexes, U. S. highways and commercial railroads.

Big Sandy now is operating out of two stations. Our district is spread across twp counties, Boyd County and Lawrence County.

Anyone wishing to join should come to the new station on Monday evenings at 6:00 PM.
